That’s true with any sport, of course, but because some people are very passionate about the sport they love, there can be discussions and even heated arguments over which managers are good and which teams are better than others. Here are the three best football managers in soccer (either now or in the past), at least in the opinion of most people.
Brian Clough
One of the most popular football, or soccer, managers is Brian Clough, who some fans call Cloughie. He’s a very popular individual, and it looks like he’ll stay that way for some time. Because he was good at winning and good at motivating people, those who worked for him and were coached by him continue to show him praise and admiration.
Sir Alex Ferguson
Another popular football manager was Sir Alex Ferguson. He rallied every group of soccer players he worked with and really had their respect and admiration for a very long time. Not everyone can show the dedication to a sport that Ferguson offered during his coaching. While no manager is perfect and all teams lose games, Ferguson clearly showed how much his team mattered to him.
Jock Stein
Another manager listed by a lot of people as being very important to the game was Jock Stein. Stein, like Ferguson and Clough, clearly represented some of the best when it came to managing a soccer team and caring about the players who were involved with it. Winning games matters, but having compassion for the players and caring about the fans also goes a long way when it comes to both popularity and the quality of a person.
There will always be disagreements about people who manage soccer and which ones were the best. Not everyone shares the same opinion, depending on where they’re from and who they like best, but these three men are clearly among the best in their field.
